TIAG and CoachMePlus Win Small Business Innovation Research Phase II Award for Warrior Performance Technology to Accelerate U.S. Air Force Readiness

RESTON, Va., August 21, 2019 — TIAG® — an innovative technology company providing strategic, transformational solutions to private industry and across the Department of Defense — together with partner company CoachMePlus, recently merited the second phase of a highly competitive Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) award to boost U.S. Air Force readiness via the Warrior Performance Platform (WP2™).

This SBIR Phase II award is an outcome of the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and technology accelerator AFWERX, which partner to provide SBIR funding for innovative companies and products that can help the Air Force achieve its mission. TIAG Director of Solutions & Technology Jake Repanshek notes that this award expands upon TIAG’s WP2 achievements for the U.S. Navy, and represents yet another opportunity to bring an industry-leading human performance optimization solution to the Department of Defense.

“In this second phase, we’ll be working with several USAF organizations — among them, Air National Guard and Air Force Health Promotion program — to conduct pilot programs that maximize the WP2 capability and validate how WP2 can improve their operations,” says Repanshek. “Inadequate fitness, preventable injury, overall attrition and lack of resilience are major areas of focus for USAF and DoD at large, and we aim to use WP2 to help address these challenges.”

Another major focus of the pilot programs will be to iteratively configure WP2 software implementation to meet optimum operational needs of the communities being served, and to identify gaps in product capability to drive future product development activity — providing a pathway for widespread adoption across the Air Force.
