01
U.S. Army Regional Health Command – Atlantic (RHC-A)
TIAG delivers a standardized IT infrastructure across the entire RHC-A region
Customer Mission

The mission of the RHC-A and its more than 17,000 staff members is to provide world-class, proactive, and patient-centered health care for approximately 600,000 service members, retirees, and their families.

Challenge

RHC-A was experiencing revolutionary transformation and required a flexible, standardized platform across their IT infrastructure and operations to mitigate and resolve issues and concerns.

Solution

TIAG’s team of network engineers planned, developed, and deployed a custom IT network infrastructure adhering to RHC-A’s exact specifications, to multiple locations allowing more than 12,000 users to get their data with 100% uptime to support the newly established regional footprint. We migrated the NCR off the Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC) circuits and onto new circuits and TLA stack at Ft. Detrick, providing RHC-A with enhanced visibility and control of the region. Additionally, we provided design and architectural support to ensure continuity of operations during the migration of the systems and applications from the WRAMC/RHC-A data center. We performed a full Datacenter Virtualization at WRAMC in less than six months to prepare for the migration; migrating hundreds of systems and thousands of users and department storage files to Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC), and the regional headquarters facility.

Result

Our team was honored with widespread recognition throughout the DoD for our ability to seamlessly migrate all data, systems and programs from WRAMC to the new facilities without losing any data and with the flexibility for all sites to easily access their data.  This allowed the region to achieve the highest levels of IT performance and superior customer service during the migration. In addition to greatly increased collaboration and efficiencies across the region, central hosting also provided a significant cost savings for the region and individual sites.

02
U.S. Army Materiel Command (AMC)
TIAG works with U.S. Army Materiel Command (AMC) to standardize IT processes
Customer Mission

AMC is a four-star command delivering logistics, sustainment, and materiel readiness solutions to ensure globally dominant land force capabilities. The AMC Enterprise Services Branch (ESB) provides actionable data on the health, performance, reliability, and availability of all AMC mission applications. AMC’s CIO/G6 provides operational capabilities to support the command, control, communications, computers, and information technology (C4IT) of AMC through architecture, governance, portfolio management, strategy, and acquisition oversight.

Challenge

From an IT standpoint, AMC’s biggest challenge was the sheer size and complexity of its infrastructure – it is one of the largest organizations in the entire U.S. Army, supporting more than 60,000 desktops, 3,000 servers, and 23 installations across 45 states. AMC also receives platform hosting and WAN connectivity from multiple service providers, making end-to-end application monitoring even more difficult.

Solution

TIAG used a responsive, multi-pronged approach to supporting AMC’s complex technological ecosystem that included desktop management, database administration, web development, network infrastructure and hardware management, systems management, and virtualization. For the infrastructure directly operated by AMC, we implemented network infrastructure management software to provide fault management, fault isolation, proactive change management, and root cause analysis. After virtualizing, hardening, and migrating 11 AMC enterprise systems, we then systematically migrated the command to the new cloud offerings and collapsed dozens of local systems. We also analyzed networks, protocol, and systems requirements to procure the proper hosting environments from DISA/APG and provided comprehensive IA engineering from application inception through the creation of RMF packages.

Result

By streamlining and consolidating processes and automating labor-intensive tasks, we were able to maximize AMC’s organizational productivity, improve asset visibility, minimize support costs, and increase user satisfaction for more than 60,000 customers throughout the United States. Our efforts collapsed the footprint of the AMC’s enterprise services hardware platform by 50% and tripled the processing capacity of the entire infrastructure, allowing AMC’s headquarters to increase overall uptime. Our technological expertise and solutions helped AMC achieve its goal of true enterprise IT management across their entire client, infrastructure, IT asset, and IT service management.

Office of the Command Information Office (OCIO) for the U.S. Navy’s Office of Naval Research (ONR)
Advancing science and technology programs across the U.S. Navy’s enterprise, TIAG provides robust IT solutions and support for the Office of Naval Research
Customer Mission

The Office of Naval Research (ONR) coordinates, executes, and promotes the science and technology programs of the United States Navy and Marine Corps.

Challenge

ONR needed to establish a world-class network operation and deliver stable, efficient IT operations across its enterprise. With a goal to achieve operational excellence while aspiring to higher levels of research, development, test, and evaluation, ONR sought fail-proof guidance, reliable solutions, and expert business process support.

Solution

Advancing ONR’s mission, TIAG assisted the Command Information Officer (CIO) in providing and operating ONR’s IT as a single-enterprise program. We provided support for the planning, program management, integration, operation, and maintenance for communications, infrastructure, networks, and software applications across the enterprise. Serving as an advisor and consultant to the CIO, we helped maintain maximum flexibility while recommending and delivering innovative methods and approaches. We introduced enterprise architecture best practices to enhance operational performance and improved and managed efficiencies and effectiveness for ONR’s infrastructure.

Result

In carefully transitioning new services to the ONR IT enterprise, we were able to deploy appropriate solutions to the network, servers, and applications while maintaining network hardware, software, and middleware.
