U.S. Army Medical Command (MEDCOM), Deputy Chief of Staff for Warrior Care and Transition
Advancing WCT’s mission to support the Army’s ill and wounded warriors and their families.
Customer Mission
Challenge

The customer needed to consolidate various Information Management and Information Technology (IM/IT) systems to support the WCT and its direct reporting units, requiring modernization of the Army Warrior Care and Transition System (AWCTS). As the Army’s singular case management system that assists and supports ill and wounded warriors throughout their medical and rehabilitation processes and during their transition back into the force or into veteran status, AWCTS is an integrated, unified, web-based IM/IT application that allows seamless information sharing between modules for user accessibility.

Solution

Valuing the superior performance and innovative solutions tiag has provided for the command since 2009, WCT relied upon TIAG’s specialized expertise to ensure outstanding results. Expert IM/IT professionals on TIAG’s team provided critical operations and maintenance services, as well as evaluation, testing, research and development to modernize AWCTS. Updating and streamlining the application, TIAG reduced hardware redundancy, boosted system responsiveness, minimized downtime, and enhanced user experience.

Result

Entrusted with the application life cycle management of AWCTS throughout multi-year missions, TIAG’s IM/IT team continues to deliver operations and maintenance support, and operates the AWCTS service desk TIAG established to assist users. Along with integration and infrastructure support, TIAG provides overall project management support, system configuration and technical services. Customized reports TIAG incorporated into AWCTS are used for improved care during the soldier rehabilitation and transition process.

02
Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC) Directorate of Information Management (DOIM)
Our team ensured the absolute minimum level of disruption to health care delivery.
Customer Mission
Challenge

WRAMC was the Army’s largest health care facility and one of the largest in the Department of Defense (DoD). The installation encompassed approximately 113 acres and the facility served as headquarters for the Northern Region Medical Command (NRMC). WRAMC employed more than 8,000 military, civilian, and contractor personnel, and had more than 600,000 visits a year to its main hospital and satellite clinics. As a result of Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC), the facility was required to migrate operations to the National Naval Medical Center (NNMC) and the newly established Ft. Belvoir Community Hospital (FBCH).

Solution

TIAG’s identification of the intricacies and interdependencies of each system enabled the creation of a comprehensive migration plan that established a prioritized and systematic process for the movement of each system and interrelated data-sets. TIAG established a centralized portal to provide complete visibility and tracking of the discovery and identification of each system. To support the fulfillment of the migration, our team architected and implemented a mobile virtual environment to simplify the transition of critical applications to the data-centers at NNMC and FBCH.

Result

TIAG provided a fundamental approach to accurately identify and rationalize the nearly 730 systems and applications that provide support. Our team architected and implemented a mobile virtual environment to simplify the transition of critical applications to the data-centers at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) and FBCH, ensuring the absolute minimum level of disruption to health care delivery.

03
Army Materiel Command (AMC)
TIAG consolidated redundant technology in centrally managed data centers.
Customer Mission
Challenge

AMC headquarters is a four-star command and one of the largest Army organizations, supporting over 60,000 desktops and 3,000 servers across 45 states. AMC’s Chief Information Officer (CIO)/G6 provides operational capabilities in support of the mission for command, control, communications, computers, and information technology through architecture, governance, portfolio management, strategy, and acquisition oversight. One of the main goals is to standardize the information technology (IT) processes across the command and consolidate redundant technology in centrally managed data centers.

Solution

In support of AMC, TIAG spearheaded the consolidation of services, applications and data centers throughout the command to enterprise hosting facilities. This included review and assessment of current capabilities, preparation of services and applications for migration and virtualization of physical servers. These efforts advanced the AMC CIO’s goals to standardize IT processes across the command and to consolidate redundant technology solutions in centrally managed data centers. The data center was built from the ground up and required detailed planning of physical components.

Result

In support of AMC, TIAG spearheaded the consolidation of services, applications and data centers throughout the command to Enterprise Hosting Facilities. Our efforts advanced the AMC CIO’s goals to standardize IT processes across the command and to consolidate redundant technology solutions in centrally managed data centers.
