We sat down with David to learn more about him, what motivates him, and what he loves about working at TIAG.
What does your job entail? What do you enjoy most?
Cloud Engineering currently utilizes skills to conduct mass SharePoint migrations from completely separate environments into a cloud IaaS SharePoint environment. Our team is a high functioning and high execution team that enjoys moving the schedule to the left when we can. Our client has noticed this as well, and has increasingly come to our team for complex items with high visibility. I enjoy it because it is constantly changing. The challenges presented daily are numerous and no situation is the same. It’s about combining knowledge and expertise with real world experience to solve complex engineering problems. It is also something best done via teamwork and that in itself is rewarding!
What motivates you to wake up and go to work?
The mission. I grew up as a military brat and to this day I have really good health. I attribute that in part to growing up in this medical system that we as a company get to serve today. It feels like I’m giving back to the system that took such good care of me growing up!
What’s been your favorite project or experience at TIAG so far?
My current project is for SharePoint Commodity Services (part of the OBIWAN Trailblazer Project). We are potentially migrating 692+ Medical Treatment Facilities (MTFs) from on-premises data centers around the globe to the new cloud environments. No two MTFs do things the same, which lends to both the variety and complexity of each migration. However, we have an iterative process that our team created which allows us to learn from each and every migration to the benefit of each successive one.
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
Probably a couple of things. I was raised as a military brat in Honduras and to this day lead medical missions teams back to Honduras twice a year, I also enjoy filmmaking and visual storytelling to bring light and attention to worthy causes.
Favorite line from a movie, or life motto/mantra?
Carpe Diem and Coram Deo
What advice would you give a new employee?
Be yourself and continually seek out ways to grow personally and professionally. And always be on the lookout for new ways to add value to both new and existing situations, projects and/or problems.
At TIAG, our greatest asset is our people. Our unique, unified company culture is composed of many brilliant, creative, well-credentialed business and technology professionals just like David.
