Defense Prisoner of War/Missing Personnel Office (DPMO)
The Defense POW/Missing Personnel Office (DPMO) is responsible for establishing and overseeing policies on the rescue of living Americans and the recovery of the remains of those who are missing-in-action from foreign battlefields. DMPO works closely with many other Department of Defense (DoD) agencies in its mission efforts across all levels of the security classification spectrum.
The DPMO needed tiag to migrate the existing CA Desktop and Server Management infrastructure to the latest release of CA IT Client Manger without losing visibility of its client environment. tiag was also tasked with implementing a CA Spectrum solution aimed at providing enhanced network visibility and monitoring to the DPMO staff. The challenges were increased by the necessity of performing these operations on each of their three disparate networks.
tiag’s experienced and highly-skilled engineers utilized their knowledge of the CA solutions to perform parallel migrations of their client management suite on the three DPMO networks simultaneously. The parallel process ensured that client access was available at all times while still allowing for the control of a rapid phased transition.
tiag augmented this initiative with a series of software solutions tailored to meet AMC's needs including an IT Asset Management program that centralizes procurement and distribution of IT assets, while also managing the entire lifecycle of IT assets (from procurement through disposal).
Likewise, tiag implemented three instances of CA Spectrum, mirroring their configurations and settings to ensure consistency and reduce system management complexity.
tiag accomplished a flawless migration of DPMO assets to a more technologically advanced solution, providing them with enhanced client vulnerability remediation, IPv6 support, and Section 508 compliance. tiag engineers' knowledge of the software enabled adding the benefit for DPMO to now directly assess their security posture in near real-time as it relates to SCAP and FDCC regulations.
Through tiag’s work implementing and configuring CA Spectrum, DPMO now has a real-time view of the architecture and status of their networks. Due to tiag’s mirrored implementation, the monitoring and management of DPMO’s multiple complex networks have been significantly reduced. DPMO is now able to identify the root cause and impact of issues arising on the network, as well as ensure SLA’s are being met with external service providers.
