Northern Regional Medical Command (NRMC)
The Northern Region is the largest region in the US Army Medical Command (MEDCOM). Headquartered at Ft. Belvoir, NRMC consists of 17 military treatment facilities and the regional headquarters.
NRMC was experiencing revolutionary transformation and required flexible, quick reaction in support of the NRMC information management/information technology infrastructure and operations, including the need to mitigate and resolve information assurance (IA) issues and concerns.
tiag supported the NRMC IA sections and performs vulnerability assessments for NRMC in accordance with Army Regulation (AR) 25-2 and AR 380-5, utilizing Army and Department of Defense (DoD)-approved scan tools such as eEye Digital Retina, Army Gold Master, and Defense Information System Agency (DISA) Gold Disk. tiag took a lead role in assisting NRMC in maintaining compliance with Army and MEDCOM IA guidelines and specifications including Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM), DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) efforts, and providing security incident response services. tiag responded to, documented, classified, and remediated security events and assisted in building, submitting, and tracking DIACAP and Certificate of Networthiness (CoN) for applications, systems, and networks.
Additionally, tiag’s IA experts and Enterprise Management team worked closely together to provide local remediation and regional solutions to IA-related issues and taskers. Our experts evaluated guidance and policies from the Information Assurance Manager and MEDCOM, established regional policy, implemented tested repeatable solutions, and tracked the progress of the corrective actions to remediate non-compliance. This team created and maintained an image library of the latest and most up-to-date images, thereby ensuring IAVM compliance and that end users have the applications they need to complete their mission.
NRMC relies on tiag for comprehensive evaluation and implementation of IA policy throughout the region and to provide technological support in the remediation of security vulnerabilities and accreditation of systems and applications through the DIACAP and Army CoN process.
