Army Materiel Command (AMC)
AMC headquarters is a four-star command and one of the largest Army organizations, supporting over 60,000 desktops and 3,000 servers across 45 states. AMC’s Chief Information Officer (CIO)/G6 provides operational capabilities in support of the mission for command, control, communications, computers, and information technology (IT) through architecture, governance, portfolio management, strategy, and acquisition oversight. One of the main goals is to standardize the IT processes across the command and consolidate redundant technology in centrally managed data centers.
AMC required Information Assurance (IA) support to achieve its goal of true enterprise IT management.
tiag provided IA engineering support for client management, infrastructure management, IT asset management, and IT service management from their inception. Our team participated in the process of obtaining Interim Authority to Test (IATT), Interim Authority to Operate (IATO), and Authority to Operate (ATO) Approvals for these applications. We also assembled the Certification Packages for each of these applications for Department of Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process and Certificate of Networthiness approval.
Our team served as trusted public-key infrastructure systems administrators to work with the Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) to obtain Secure Sockets Layer certificates for web based systems and went through the process of placing these websites behind the reverse web proxy. In addition, our team worked with DISA as we transitioned enterprise applications to the Cloud, as a result of the Army Data Center Consolidation Plan and Base Realignment and Closure, to ensure that each system met the DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide requirements. Lastly, our team at AMC was responsible for the operations and maintenance of the command wide Asset Discovery and Compliance System (CA® Technologies IT Client Manager). We worked with the Army and NETCOM on various integration efforts such as the Tier 0 Asset Reporting Database and prior to that the Army Asset and Vulnerability Tracking Resource.
AMC has relied on tiag to provide Information Assurance support for all of its IT Enterprise Application implementations. tiag cybersecurity professionals have ensured that AMC quickly receives IATT, IATO, and ATO approvals for all of their enterprise applications to further the rapid deployment of new technology throughout the command.
