Before TIAG, Rod was owner, consultant and chief strategist for a Huntsville, Ala.-based business-consulting firm serving information technology, defense and aerospace clients. He is most proud of his work with regional governments, academia and industry to solve complex problems — from helping Huntsville’s mayor develop a 20-year strategic plan involving high-tech solutions for the city’s environmental and energy initiatives, to serving on a task force to improve safety and communications for city schools.
Previously Rod advanced critical missions at companies including Booz Allen Hamilton, Ernst & Young LLP, among others, and also supported the Missile Defense Agency’s development of the ballistic missile defense system. During his prior ten-year career as a U.S. Army officer and aviator, Rod was Ranger/Airborne qualified and flew Black Hawk helicopters as a test pilot with the 82nd Airborne Division.
