As general manager advancing business activities in TIAG’s Huntsville, Ala., regional office, Rodney (“Rod”) Pennywell is passionate about identifying opportunities to provide truly transformational results.
Insightful, personable and service-oriented, Rod draws from vast experience in business development and strategy, program management and systems engineering to help TIAG customers define and implement solutions that advance critical missions.

Locally established and esteemed within the Huntsville community, Rod is a certified systems engineer who brings almost three decades of expertise in leadership, technical project management and systems engineering to benefit defense, government and commercial clients.

A trusted IT thought leader who understands customer challenges in complex business and process issues, Rod advocates teamwork — collaborating with TIAG talent, partners and competitors to deliver comprehensive, creative solutions that exceed customer expectations. Proactive and diligent, he translates client objectives and develops winning strategies, excelling in large-scale integration programs. Adept in managing people and multi-million dollar programs, he mentors and motivates teams to success, focusing on professional development and career advancement opportunities for TIAG’s talented force.

Before TIAG, Rod was owner, consultant and chief strategist for a Huntsville, Ala.-based business-consulting firm serving information technology, defense and aerospace clients. He is most proud of his work with regional governments, academia and industry to solve complex problems — from helping Huntsville’s mayor develop a 20-year strategic plan involving high-tech solutions for the city’s environmental and energy initiatives, to serving on a task force to improve safety and communications for city schools.

Previously Rod advanced critical missions at companies including Booz Allen Hamilton, Ernst & Young LLP, among others, and also supported the Missile Defense Agency’s development of the ballistic missile defense system. During his prior ten-year career as a U.S. Army officer and aviator, Rod was Ranger/Airborne qualified and flew Black Hawk helicopters as a test pilot with the 82nd Airborne Division.
