Richard (“Rick”) Kehl
As tiag’s financial controller and trusted leader, Rick applies broad competencies and expertise acquired during his 25-year accounting career in federal government contracting, public accounting and auditing. Bringing a unique breadth of experience overseeing diverse scenarios from a GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles) perspective, Rick is adept in working with individuals at all levels of an organization to achieve shared goals and successes.
“When it comes to making financial decisions, numbers are important, but the mission is equally significant. I take great pride in providing sound advice—illuminating all options, risks and rewards—and ensuring we meet the needs of all our customers. At the same time, I focus on achieving strategic objectives that continue to drive tiag’s success as a sound, solid company that excels in delivering on our promises.”~ Rick Kehl
Esteemed for his sage insights and open-door policy, Rick possesses a refreshing knack for illuminating — in easily understood terms — how each aspect of financials affects our customers, our company and our people. Working directly with tiag senior leaders, Rick helps define strategy and evaluate potential investments and opportunities, in addition to conducting thorough financial analysis for resource planning and business development. As he analyzes, interprets and vets information, Rick focuses on much more than the numbers. Scrutinizing the fine points of finances, he envisions how every detail fits within the big picture, and helps management fully comprehend how each financial component fits in the overall mission.
Before tiag, Rick served as chief financial officer for a leading technology and management-consulting firm serving government and commercial clients — implementing the corporate strategic growth plan and overseeing all aspects of financial reporting, treasury, corporate risk insurance and facilities. Previously, as director of accounting for a leading provider of critical solutions to the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Rick ensured compliance in financial reporting, oversaw foreign bank accounts and related financial reporting, and served as direct contact for external auditors and tax return preparers, among numerous other accounting roles. In his prior public accounting career, he served as manager of accounting and audit, specializing in government contracting.
