Entrenched in tiag’s work with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) Transformation Twenty-One Total Technology Next Generation acquisition program (T4NG), Brent Swartz is a tenacious leader spurred by a steadfast desire to improve the lives of veterans.

As director of tiag’s Veterans Affairs Business Unit, Brent possesses a knack for communicating clearly, level-setting expectations and galvanizing teams to achieve shared goals. Bringing more than a decade of business experience along with extensive technical and project-management expertise, he is a wizard in quality assurance, performance assessment and reporting.

Setting high standards for contract deliverables and quality assurance, Brent takes a proactive, proven and well-documented approach to ensure customer satisfaction. Applying the business and technical principles, values and benefits of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Brent implements Agile business processes to scale success. Aligning teams and programs, he takes great care to bridge resources and maximize skill sets. Along the way, Brent motivates teams to execute beyond client expectations.

Guided by his personal slogan that “the right attitude can make a long day short and hard work enjoyable,” Brent maintains a positive attitude and leads by example. Training and mentoring team members, he simultaneously strives to heighten team performance, boost efficiency and increase delivery of value. Coaxing collaboration and creativity while fostering tiag’s unique corporate culture, Brent demonstrates a leadership style that keeps customers and employees happy.

Descending from generations of patriots dating to the Revolutionary War, Brent is likewise moved by the experiences of his father and brother during their military service, deployment and VA health care. Brent’s desire to “change the system” fueled his prior work with IT contracting firms in which he helped advance numerous missions for VA and the Department of Defense.

In other previous positions, Brent advanced such initiatives as VA’s Virtual Lifetime Electronic Record Health Program; the Veterans Authorizations and Preferences subsystem; the Eliminate Veteran Homelessness program; and the Hazardous Material Management System supporting DoD and NASA, among copious other assignments that moved missions forward.
